A forklift driver has hit out at Amazon after a delivery driver left his parcel on top of a massive hedge.
Adam Kupiec, 34, said he was at home on New Year’s Eve when he got a confirmation email from Amazon saying his package ‘was handed to resident’.
Thinking it was some kind of mistake, he went looking for it, searching the corridor by the entrance to his flat block, and the garden outside.
But it was nowhere to be found.
The expectant dad says he discovered where it had been hiding when he returned home later that day.
He told Metro.co.uk: ‘I had been shopping in the town centre and came back and spotted the parcel on top of the hedge.
‘I was massively surprised because it’s so high. It’s at least two and half metres. I couldn’t even reach the parcel.’
Adam says the parcel was out of his reach. He recreated this photo to show where he found the package (Picture: Adam Kupiec) Adam, who is 6ft 2ins tall, said he had to ‘shake the bush’ to get the package down.
He said the parcel did not suffer any major damage but it did get wet in the rain.
The package was worth about £40 and full of items for his baby who is due in March.
Adam, who lives in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, said he decided to confront the Amazon driver who was scheduled to deliver a different package later that day.
He said: ‘The funny thing is that a couple hours later another parcel was supposed to be delivered, with different stuff. ‘
I wanted to make sure the parcel was delivered to me so I was waiting for the driver in the garden.’

He claims the delivery driver was on his way to put the second parcel in the same spot in the bush.
Adam said: ‘He spotted me from the other side of the bush and said, “are you from number 19?”
‘I said “yes I am”.’ He added: ‘I asked him, “did you leave the parcel this morning on top of the bush?” and he didn’t say anything.’
Adam said he can’t understand why the driver decided to put it there but appreciated it’s a busy time of the year.

The experience has made him question whether he should continue paying for Amazon Prime.
He said: ‘I will probably resign from the Amazon subscription because it’s not worth the money. ‘
If you pay £120 for a subscription you expect to get a parcel straight to your door, not on top of a bush.’
An Amazon spokesperson said: ‘We have very high standards for our delivery service providers and expect every package to be handled with care. ‘We’ve notified the right teams internally and will work with the customer directly to ensure the matter is resolved to their satisfaction.’
