(SS)安全存货：除了预期的客户需求外,所准备的最少数量存货,以在紧急、未预期需求或未预期的运输延迟发生的时候,仍有充足的货供应。当需求未确定时,安全存货是最大用量和平均用量的差再乘以前置时间(lead time)。例如甲商店对篮球的销售未确定,前置时间为两星期,正常每周销售量为250个,但最高可达350个,则350-250=100,100×2=200,安全存货为200个（这是简单的示意算法）。
